Chewing Is Not Destructive Behaviour
Owners often describe chewing as a problem. For a parrot it is a normal daily activity that has to happen somewhere.
Beaks need work
Chewing conditions the beak and occupies the mind. A bird with nothing sanctioned to chew will find your furniture.
Provide a target
Softwood, cardboard and palm leaf give the behaviour somewhere to go. These are consumables, not failures.
Replace before it is finished
A toy chewed to a stub stops being interesting. Swapping it early keeps the habit pointed at the right object.
